Gary Williams, head coach of the Maryland Terrapins has been under fire the past few seasons, and particularly this one. After getting to the Final Four in 2001, winning the National Championship in 2002, the Terps have had a long slide down from the top tier of college bball.

The Washington Post has a great three part series focused on Williams, the change in recruiting atmosphere, his steadfast hold on his principles, the recruiting misses (Rudy Gay, Josh Boone, Joe Alexander, Scottie Reynolds among others, just think of the of Baltimore/D.C. area high school stars Carmelo Anthont, Kevin Durant and Michael Beasley, yeah those guys, who went elsewhere for their one year of college..)
