At lunch today, I picked up a New York Times and Sports Illustrated. Now I read both these publications, through much of their sections, online. But thanks to their print editions, I never would have read about the summer of 2009 for Michigan State basketball; a follow-up on Ron Artest's signing with the Lakers and some new information on how the deal went down; on how former UCLA linebacker Ryan Nece, who's been in the NFL since, has started a "pay-it-forward" type of campaign; that German graphic artist Heinz Edelman, best known for The Beatles' Yellow Submarine film, passed away; that an online shopping site for designer brands is starting a new website; along with all the ways that U.S. cell phone companies may be using to make profits.
Again, I read these two publications online everyday, and in the case of the NYT, multiple times a day, but without picking up the print editions, I never would have read about these things.
